ARTWORK FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions)

How can I purchase artwork by AOB apprentices?

There are several ways. Work can either be commissioned expressly for you (or your business, organization or community group) or purchased from works in inventory.

What is the process for commissioning artwork?

When and where can I purchase completed work?

AOB maintains a selection of completed works at our studio in Wheaton. Call 240.645.0730 for information regarding availability and/or to schedule a visit. AOB also holds public sales from time to time. Check this website for announcements, or send a request to jgoldstein@artsontheblock.com to be added to our email list.

What does AOB do with income from sales?

Every penny from sales (with the exception of sales tax!) is directed back into the program. AoB apprentices receive an educational stipend for their participation, and generating income is an important means for keeping the program alive and well!

Is my purchase or commission tax-deductible?

Only contributions above "fair market value" can be considered a charitable donation. We price our goods at fair market value, but welcome your additional contributions - naturally!
