My visuals and films represent history unrolling as an unyielding reel of living art in its struggle. The forging of identity through the constant movement of time and space. Art has been the medium that allows me to express and articulate both abstract and concrete elements of thought.
Collecting oral histories and traditions from elders is a process of gleaning light from the embers of the past that are sparked from their memories. I relate my art to Archeology, a field that has always captivated me as a process of unearthing lost and forgotten eras. My art contains elements of Archeology. History is eternally relevant. The past often coincides with the present and allows us brief glimpses into our many possible futures.
