Arts on the Block specializes in creating commissions. Not only do they generate income for our programs, but they also provide AOB Apprentice Artists with a tangible introduction to the creative economy. Apprentices master several disciplines through working in mosaic while learning transferable life and job skills: patience, teamwork, attention to detail, confidence, pride in accomplishment, and more. Working with clients, including schools, government agencies, and business owners, Apprentices also gain a strong sense community connectivity. They learn the value of public art and understand its potential impact.

In addition to large-scale installations, our talented young apprentices in the Pour Your ART Out program also create a variety of works for individual sale! Mirrors, vases, plates, boxes, panels, and signs in a variety of sizes, shapes, colors and materials are produced, each exhibiting the exceptional talents of the AOB apprentices.
